Finished. The apartment is completed decorated and I managed to make everything I wanted for the place.

Now all that’s left is gingerbread house, cookies, fabric wrapping, and one last knitting project! Oh and 2 pajama shorts. I’m pretty nervous about those. Plus everything that goes along with traveling for 18 days.

Less than 2 weeks to go while working 50+ hours. Piece of cake.

Did you say bags?

Oh I’ve got your bags!

51 to be exact!

This weekend I finished up all my non-Christmas projects! A letter bag for a work friend that will be filled with happy thoughts & good luck wishes! And 50 favor bags for an upcoming wedding!

Lots of work and now it’s time for nonstop Christmasing!

Happy New Year Everyone!

My project list is getting longer and longer by the day. This year I’m not really focusing on all the things I want to make. (Although there are a lot of those kinds of projects) I want this year to be more about doing and learning and stepping outside my comfort zone. Like moving 3000 miles away from home and starting a big girl job but also…

  • Take a pottery, glass blowing, yoga & knitting class.
  • Start my own art class.
  • Go camping A LOT. Actually just be outside a lot. And learn all about Seattle’s nature.
  • Take up swimming and biking.
  • Make vanilla extract, pomegranate liquor, fortune cookies (those were just added today).
  • Better my knitting. Or at least learn how to make hats and socks.
  • Cook more.
  • Make all my cleaning supplies.
  • I also still want to make birthday and Christmas presents. Maybe not all but for sure the majority.
  • I might even try making some earrings.
  • Make a home in Seattle.

Don’t you just love the start of a year? Full of endless possibilities.

P.S. Remember when I made that huge batch of laundry soap back in June? Well it just ran out! That’s right it lasted 7 months!

This is the last thing I’m gonna say about it, I wont even talk about how much better for you and the environment it is but come on, who doesn’t love saving money?! You can’t beat it.

At this rate…

I’ll be done with all my projects in two weeks!

Tuesday I…

made deodorant. I have been meaning to do this for about ten months! It was super easy!

I got my recipe from Angry Chicken. I also got the shea butter and cocoa butter from the same place she did.

3 Tablespoons shea butter
3 Tablespoons baking soda
2 Tablespoons corn starch
2 Tablespoons cocoa butter
Vitamin E oil
Essential Oil (I used grapefruit)

All you do is mix the shea butter, baking soda, corn starch, and cocoa butter together and warm up in the microwave. I had to do it for about a minute. Then stir it up and add in the oils. I wasn’t sure how much vitamin e to use and I found that I kept adding a ton of grapefruit cause the shea butter is pretty strong. Pour it in a glass jar and let it sit in the fridge. I used it today and the only thing that I think I did wrong was added to much vitamin e casue once I rubbed it in, it was pretty oily but not to bad. Other than that its amazing- I didn’t smell at all! I love it!

painted a birthday present. (picture posted later)

made my ‘no-poo’ shampoo and rise (more on that later- hopefully it will work).

and fell in love with mod podge. I made this painting a couple of months ago, it hopes of two things- 1. that it would look halfway descent to put in my bathroom (whenever I have my own bathroom) and 2. that it be New Yorkish. I ended up being pretty proud of it but I never finished it, it really needed something over the top of it to seal it all together. This was my first time using mod podge, I got really scared that it was going to stay like this and that my painting was ruined!

Thankfully it didn’t and it turned out looking so much better!

Thank you mod podge!

Another one in the books.

February has come and gone, and I’m happy to report that all of projects got done. I’ll post pictures of the two gifts I made this month once they’re opened.

Caleb leaves tomorrow for 6 weeks. I have planned tons of fun projects to keep me busy and hopefully the time with fly by fast. And when I say tons I mean TONS- 3 skirts, 1 top and 1 dress, just to name a few!

The project that I’m most looking forward too is learning how to use this bad boy- I have no clue what I’m doing but I’m up for the challenge!

the pillows are finally finished! Thank goodness!

I also got a job this weekend!
